Man Cave Profile #2

Today's featured man cave comes courtesy of a good friend of mine, BenM. He lives in Seattle now, but he once called New Jersey home, an upgrade on par with going from the nosebleed section to box seats. This is a profile of his theatre room in New Jersey, which he has more information about on his website.

If you want your man cave to featured on tothemancave.com, send an e-mail to tothemancave@gmail.com with up to five pictures and your own answers to the profile below.

Name: Ben

Location: Palmyra, NJ

Cave size: ~18x12

How long did your cave take to complete? 6 months of talking and 1 month of work

How much time do you spend in your cave per week? 15-20 hours

What’s your favorite feature/most prized possession of your cave? ReplayTV, no commercials allowed in the man cave

Most people you’ve had in there at once? 10

Any future plans for your cave? I’ve got my eyes on a 1080p high def projector

Type of beer served? Yuengling

TV details? 110” image from a BenQ 6100 DLP projector (800x600) and a 19” tube TV which was later upgraded to a 32” 720p LCD

Xbox, Wii, or PS3? Xbox and Xbox360

Who’s your idea of a footballer, Brady or Beckham? Brady

Alba, Biel, or Simpson? Yes, please

Anything else you want to add? The screen was just white paint on the wall surrounded by crown molding painted black. I could watch any combination of two video sources (ReplayTV, VCR, DVD, or Xbox) on the projector and the TV. It was the only place to be on Sunday afternoons during football season. Unfortunately, this is my old man cave. I moved to Seattle about 18 months after constructing this one.

Thanks for posting my humble man cave! I had a lot of fun building it and it was a popular spot for visitors. Every night I sit in my living room and try to figure out how I can cram a projector and screen in there. I'll send you a profile for my new place in a month or so when I finish the current painting project.
